Your protection is important to me. I provide hand sanitiser and maintain social distancing at all times. The room is disinfected using UV_C disinfecting light before each client.
My name is Binkie Heather and I have been a psychotherapist and a counsellor near Wells for over 15 years. I provide psychotherapy and counselling to individuals and couples as well as supervision and training to masters level equivalent in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy.
I provide couples counselling to couples experiencing difficulties in their relationships. You may be considering couples counselling because your relationship is in crisis and you want to preserve it or decide wether it is worth preserving. You may have decided to separate and want help to manage the separation process. You may feel generally happy with the relationship but find that there are specific areas of difficulty that you want to improve on or you may feel that your relationship functions well but wish to enhance your experience of connection and intimacy.
I can help you to understand how your past experiences are affecting your current relationships and help you to find more effective ways of getting your needs met. Specific areas that may be addressed are assertiveness, communication skills, emotional literacy and negotiation strategies. The process helps you to a better understanding of yourself and your partner so that you become more empathic and supportive to one another.
I am a fully qualified, accredited and experienced psychotherapist. Psychotherapy deals with severe or acute psychological difficulties, usually originating in early childhood, which cause significant distress in ones current life. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive symptoms, panic attacks, phobias, rages or addiction or the impact of past or recent trauma. You may have difficulties maintaining relationships or employment. Psychotherapy generally takes longer than counselling, works at greater depth and aims to achieve more fundamental changes.
As a counsellor, I can help you deal with current difficulties that arise in your life. These may relate to work, relationships, self esteem or to understanding and dealing with your feeling. I can help you to manage grief and other life changes, to deal with bullying and other relational difficulties.
You may feel that although you function well enough in life, there is room for improvement, for example in your productivity, creativity, people management, emotional literacy or self esteem. I can work with you to optimise your experience of life.
You may not know wether counselling or psychotherapy is more appropriate for you. I will work with you in the most appropriate way for you.
